Honduras SHG EP Washed Copan RFA

Time to wake up and smell the coffee from Honduras!

In Honduras' history, coffee growing has played a major role. Honduras has similar soil, climate, and situations to its neighbors. Honduran coffees compete with Central American coffees that are more popular. Farmers work hard to develop the bean's natural features so that it can be enjoyed to the fullest.

Honduran coffee provides some of the most sought-after beans, which are savored by people all over the world. In many cases, coffee in Honduras has a light, fruity flavor with a lot of sweetness.

Honduras Coffee Beans

Honduras SHG EP Washed Copan RFA is a blend of organically certified SHG EP (Strictly High Grown, European Process) coffees from the CAFESCOR Cooperative in Honduras' Copan area's Casitas region. This coffee is grown between 1,350 and 1,530 meters above sea level. Coffee produced at a higher altitude and at lower temperatures has a longer developing fruit and a denser bean, making for a more desirable specialty cup. The crops include Caturra, red and yellow Catuai, Bourbon, IHCafe, Parainema, and Lempira. Coffee is cleaned carefully and dried in the sun. CAFESCOR (Cafes Especiales Corquin) is a small coffee producers cooperative established in 2012 in Corquin, Copan. This coffee was included in one of Olam Specialty Coffee's winning Competition Blends because of its well-balanced flavor, floral undertones, and light citrus overtones.

Green apple, caramel, and melon flavors with flowery and citrus undertones characterize this coffee, which is clear, sweet, and well-balanced. The texture of this cup is silky, creamy, and light. With a bigger body and lower acidity, the main tone will be quite chocolaty — a rich semi-sweet chocolate smoky note with just a trace of a floral component. In lighter roasts, this Honduran coffee has a delightful spice flavor, a hint of wine, and a hint of caramel.

Pour Over Coffee

Roasting this coffee is simple and flexible, ranging from medium to dark. The fresh, clear flavor qualities will be highlighted by a quicker roast. This is a delicious single origin breakfast coffee that's perfect for waking up to.
