Extra-high altitude makes the beans harder and more dense than the average bean. Authentic Blue Mountain coffee carries a certification mark that is awarded by the Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica (CIB). This certification mark indicates that the coffee has passed the intense quality-control screening process.
